My Top 3 Priorities
Covid Relief: Lissette wants to extend the eviction moratorium in our city, and prevent any evictions due to inability to pay. They would like to ensure PPE for all essential workers in Redwood City, allocate funds for rent relief, and citywide wifi
Housing for All: Lissette’s stance is housing is a human right, and we must look into public housing options, since so-called affordable housing isn’t affordable to half the residents of Redwood City.
Reinvesting in the Community: Lissette believes we must defund the $48.9M police budget, tax big business to invest in resources that are proven to reduce crime such as wellness centers, community-based food banks, free transportation and childcare.

Does your office have any plans to include currently or formerly incarcerated people in your decision-making process as it relates to criminal justice issues? What would that look like?
No answer provided.
With 8,000 people eligible for release from CA prisons to help stem the transmission of COVID-19, how, if at all, would your office aid these Californians and their families in navigating reentry?
Answer from Janet Borgens:
My first action would be to have every one tested every 2 weeks . This is imparitive if we are to stop the spread and protect all from getting sick . Second we need to connect all with job and housing opportunities . Goodwill, job train, Salvation Army, service league and any other organization that can help transition these residents by providing stabilizing oppertunutes . The path to success is through meaningful education and employment .
