Biography
Dear District 1, Neighbors,
My name is Mayra Espinosa. I am running for City Council, Pacifica, District 1, and I have been your neighbor on Glasgow Drive for over 20 years. My priority for this District is to make a difference for our community. I want to be "our" voice on the City Council.
Raised my hand because things need to change, and it is up to us to make it happen. The city of Pacifica has neglected our newly created District. I want to bring balance, trust, transparency, and fairness to the Pacifica City Council.
I love helping people. I left the Dominican Republic, and I have been in Pacifica for 27 years - Pacifica is home. I have worked at Skyline College Business Division as an instructional aid for 20 years, and I love it. At Skyline, we are a diverse and caring family.

Over the years, I have seen with my own eyes how this community has risen and how we struggle to keep things going and how we work hard to make it better. I'm grateful that I've had the opportunity to listen to so many of you, and from those conversations, I've learned what matters to you.
Will work to implement COVID -19 testing in Pacifica, lead on small economic recovery.
We need affordable housing. I am looking for innovative solutions to housing
in Pacifica.
Also, we need to keep our community safe. Our District needs more police to enforce traffic laws. We need more stop signs and speed limit signs to slow down traffic on our streets.
This is the first time Pacifica will have someone represent our neighborhood, which has been neglected by the City of Pacifica. I want to be your voice. I want to serve District 1.
Looking to the future, it is now more evident than ever that the community needs business leaders who seek more inclusive and sustainable economic models that uplift people rather than leaving them behind. Business needs to re-engage with the social engagement it once held to regain public trust and build a better tomorrow. As educators, our task is to help cultivate the future by Developing Business Leaders for a Better Future.
I understand the challenges ahead, and I will work hard for our community. Together we can make a difference. It is time for a change!
I would be honored to have your vote on November 3. Let me be your voice for our community.
Sincerely,
Mayra
