My husband and I moved our young family to Hillsborough in 1996. Our two children graduated from West and Crocker Schools. Over the years, I have been active in community service locally at our Hillsborough Schools Foundation, volunteer at West School, served as a member of the West School Disaster Preparedness Team, and served on the Board of Directors of San Mateo High School Foundation.
I am a practicing Internal Medicine Physician in San Mateo County since 1989, and Board Certified as a Diplomate from the American Board of Internal Medicine. I now serve as an Independent Medical Evaluator, consulting on complex medical cases. Previously, I was a Staff Physician in Internal Medicine at One Medical Group in Burlingame, and before that I was a Physician Advisor Consultant for Medicare Compliance. I have served on numerous boards of directors in the medical field, including the California Medical Association.
I graduated from Yale University School of Medicine and received a B.A. degree in Biochemistry from Skidmore College. While I was in medical school, I worked with the CDC in Sierra Leone, combating an epidemic of “Lassa Virus”, and I have remained a field supporter of “Doctors Without Borders” since graduating from medical school.
I have been active in community service. I serve as a volunteer physician at the Samaritan House Free Clinic and serve on the Samaritan House Board of Directors. I have also served on the Board of Directors for San Francisco Village, helping older San Franciscans continue to live lives of purpose and meaning, as they age in their homes.
I believe my medical expertise will help the town develop a best practice response to the Covid-19 pandemic, and to advise residents on concerns that arise from this health crisis. I am also informed on other urgent issues facing the town of Hillsborough, and I intend to work with residents and local leaders to address these issues.
