Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

Every student should walk into our schools knowing they are supported by caring mentors and equitable opportunities to achieve their greatest potential ……  And that happens when we see our differences not as burdens to overcome, but as opportunities to expand our perspectives, engage our community, and advance our school offerings.  The future of education is something to get really really excited about.  And that is because there is a growing effort to shift education from one of compliance, control, and conformism to one that honors the uniqueness of every student and promotes learning through experimentation, creativity, and community experience.  Overcoming challenges like accessibility, social justice, and educational reform calls on an administration, staff and community of people willing to listen, experiment, and learn from trying new things.  In moments like these, people need to feel supported in their work and often a recipe for success can turn a daunting action or decision into something safe to try.  If elected, my unique set of skills allows me to step in right away and provide proven methods, models, and approaches in how we communicate, how we use technology, and how we shape our educational vision and curriculum.

I thank you for your vote!
