I was raised in Santa Monica, California. I had a successful career as an Emmy Award winning television news journalist, that led me to jobs in Portland, Oregon, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, New York City and San Francisco. 

While working in New York City, I won two Emmy’s. 

Before college, I lived in Italy for four years, in Emilia Romagna.  

I studied history at UCLA and while in college, I went to school in Mexico and France and lived in Washington, DC for a summer session, while interning at CNN.

I currently teach a course called, Race, Gender and Class in Media, at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. 

I live in San Anselmo with my daughter, a junior at (Drake) aka HS 1327. 

I have been involved in the schools for eleven years. I have volunteered in numerous capacities including site council, head room parent, event planning, and serving hot lunch. Throughout this time, I worked continuously with students, teachers and administrators alike. As my kids aged up and went to high school, I refocused my interest in TUHSD Board governance and District policies. 

I have been engaged with board meetings and forums for the past few years. I have attended all Marin County of Education Trustee trainings. I've spoken with numerous key stakeholders including current and former administration and trustees, teachers, Foundation and PTSA Presidents, and local groups to understand the needs and landscape of the community at large. I feel doing this work is critical in order to accurately represent all TUHSD stakeholders alike- students, parents, teachers and community members.

I spent my career in Sales and learned that the best salespeople are those who listen to their customers to come up with the best solutions for them. My career also taught me to lead, communicate, organize, collaborate and negotiate. I believe these skills translate and contribute to being a good Board member.  They allow me to bring a fresh perspective to the Board at a time when constructive insight is needed to make hard decisions that might come our way. 

As I attended TUHSD Board meetings I noticed that there was a lack of Trustees who currently have kids in the District. It is more important now than ever that we have Trustees who understand the daily experiences our students and teachers are going through in distance learning. I will have a child in the District for my entire four year term. I have skin in the game, a current viewpoint on constructive changes,  and a vested interest to serve.

I have a holistic approach to my candidacy as I see four major issues facing the District right now. These four major issues include:

• Distance learning in COVID 
• Fiscal Stability of the District and passing Measure M
• Overhauling our culture and curriculum towards equity and anti-racism
• Openly and inclusively addressing the potential name change at Drake/High School 1327  

I commit to thoroughly researching all Board issues and welcome input from all constituents- students, parents, teachers and the community at large. I will be responsive to the values and priorities of our community and am invested in two-way communication. I will be open and transparent within the rules to inspire leadership, trust and confidence. I will truly listen to others' input and work collaboratively to make the best decisions for the District. 

I will operate with the best interests of all students in mind at all times. Learning for students will be my primary focus and motivation. I’m a product of K-12 public education and a firm believer in public schools. That is why we put down roots in Marin 17 years ago and my sole interest is in helping TUHSD be as strong as possible.
