Experience

Biography

I am a long time resident of Marin City and the parent of a 5th grader in our district.

I’ve been deeply engaged in our school district for more than 5 years attending nearly every school related meeting. Over that time, I’ve made it my mission to understand the issues surrounding our schools- and to make sure the community does too, gathering information, sharing it with the public and calling folks to attend when it’s critical that we hear the voice of our community in important decisions.

I am fully committed to the unification of our schools and to closing the opportunity gap for our most vulnerable students.  Distance learning is widening the gap, and together with a number of community partners, Alena Maunder and I launched Marin City Community Learning Hubs to provide in person academic support and enrichment activities for our 7th and 8th grade students who have struggled with distance learning. This is only a start and we must and will do more.
