I am a native Californian. I grew up in Southern CA and moved to Tiburon with my husband and three children in 2013. Our children all currently attend the Reed Union School District at Reed (2nd grade), Bel Aire (4th grade) and Del Mar (6th grade). Both my husband and I attended public elementary school, and we feel so fortunate that our children are able to receive an exceptional public education at the Reed Schools.

Work Experience

I have spent my career as a researcher and a small business owner, and my job has always been to listen to key stakeholder objectives and to apply sound research and critical thinking to deliver actionable insights. In 2005, I co-founded eVOC Insights, LLC a digital marketing research and consulting firm headquartered in San Francisco, CA. As CEO, I am responsible for all aspects of the business including managing client and partner relationships, directing sound research engagements, collaborating with consultant teams, and overseeing the daily operations of the firm.

My work experience has been invaluable for me as a Trustee during this unprecedented time, with ever changing guidelines and a myriad of stakeholder concerns.  I'm committed to data-driven decision making, collaboration, fiscal responsibility, and thoughtful communication to the parent and greater community. 

Volunteer Experience

Prior to joining the school board, I volunteered on both the Parent Teachers Association (PTA) and the Foundation for Reed Schools for 7 years. While serving on the PTA I volunteered as a room parent, yearbook coordinator, Bel Aire play photographer, Regatta volunteer and Reed Treasurer. For the Foundation, I helped with fundraising as Co-chair of the Directory (3 years) and Co-chair of Scholar’s Circle (1 year).

I also served on the RUSD Strategic Planning Collaborative in January 2020, and I worked for the 2019 Measure E: Parcel Tax Renewal campaign. Being a volunteer has been a wonderful experience and has helped me get to know our students, teachers, families and local community partners. I am so grateful for the experiences that I have had as a volunteer in this district. 

I also am currently the Treasurer of Children of Shelters (COS), a non-profit organization based in San Francisco that is dedicated to providing educational and enrichment opportunities to children living in the shelter system.   I have served on this board for 8 years.  I believe that all children deserve the opportunity to learn and to thrive under any living condition.

Education

I received my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania in International Relations, Communications and Political Science. As a senior at Penn I was a member of the Friar’s Senior Honors Society and I was Captain of the Penn Women’s Ski team.

For high school, I attended Villanova Preparatory School in Ojai, CA, where I played soccer, volleyball, softball and ran track. The summer after my Junior year, I was a Congressional Page in Washington, DC and as a graduating Senior, I received the Villanova Award for Excellence in Athletics. For primary school, I attended public elementary at Montecito Union School (K-6) and Cabrillo Middle School (7-8).

I have always been passionate about education and I have continued to take courses at Stanford University in Politics and Philosophy, through Stanford’s Continuing Education Studies. I am currently enrolled in Stanford’s Political Science courses: Election 2020: A Panoramic View of America’s Decisive Election (POL 57) and Technology and the 2020 Election: How Silicon Valley Technologies Impact our Elections and Shape our Democracy (POL 58).

Hobbies

I enjoy spending time with my family and our dog Beau, hiking, skiing, surfing (mostly watching surfing), reading, painting, playing tennis, and making pancakes and bacon with my family on the weekends.

My name is Jacqueline Jaffee. My husband and I have been a part of the Reed Union School District since our oldest started kindergarten at Reed in 2012. I have an eighth grader at Del Mar Middle School, a fifth grader at Bel Aire Elementary and a second grader at Reed Elementary. I am an attorney and work as Executive Director of Adopt A Family of Marin where we support low-income families in the County with short-term financial assistance. In 2017 I co-founded All In, a Tiburon non-profit and a program of Adopt A Family that supports low-income families in RUSD. For eight years I have volunteered for the Parent Teacher Association and the Foundation for Reed Schools. I am a believer in public education and community mobilization. It would be my extreme privilege to serve as a Trustee and continue as a champion for the community, our children and education. 

I am passionate about the value of an excellent public school system. As a parent and professional, I am selective on how I spend my time volunteering, focusing on education, the environment, and activities with my son (Del Mar 6^th grader). I was appointed by the SF Unified School Board as a community advisor to oversee the $30MM public education and enrichment fund. In Tiburon, I have continued to focus on kids, education, and environment, volunteering as a coach for our son’s soccer and basketball teams and being appointed to the Parks Open Space and Trails Commission. In 2020 I joined the RUSD Strategic Planning Collaborative and participated in a calling campaign to support extending the Tamalpais Union High School District parcel tax. Recently, I led an effort to restore 5^th grade Math Club during remote learning. With COVID, we will continue to have challenges and need board members who are familiar with technology and deeply committed to the community. I will collaborate with the faculty, educators, administrators, and all of you. I will bring creativity, flexibility, and insight to the RUSD Board. I ask for your support. Democrat

As proud member of our community, I’m committed to helping make our schools exceptional.  I’m running for school board trustee because I believe in the value of public education. I want to work with teachers, parents and the community to ensure Reed Union School District students receive the world-class education they deserve.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Education and Master of Education, I still have a valid teacher’s certification, and as a former teacher gives me the experience to have the tools to advocate on behalf of educators, students, and families.  As a university administrator, I understand the realities of working with a budget, and will ensure that RUSD spends our taxpayer money wisely.

If elected, I’ll diligently work toward retaining and recruiting highly qualified teachers, developing and supporting academic initiatives that will prepare our children for the future.  As your trustee, I will work to ensure our taxpayer dollars are spent so they have an impact in the classroom, provide for special needs students, make sure to include diversity and inclusion, and look to expand after-school programs.
