Position Qualifications
STATEMENT OF CANDIDATE FOR GOVERNING BOARD MEMBER Marin Community College District
Stuart Tanenberg, MBA Occupation: Incumbent / Business Owner, CEO
Qualifications: As a Marin resident for more than forty years, with thirty five years of advocacy and service to our public education community, I currently serve as a Trustee on the Marin Community College District Governing Board. I am an experienced leader with proven skills in financial, organizational, and operations management. I have worked with my Board colleagues and College President to advocate and advance a vision for the College of Marin through communication, collaboration and commitment to success for both our Kentfield and Indian Valley campuses.
Continuity in leadership is critical at this time, as the Board deals with the delivery of quality education under the coronavirus cloud, completion of our Measure B facilities modernization projects, and to maintain fiscal integrity with projected budget cuts
I am dedicated to working for educational access for all, enrollment management, accreditation, community partnerships, diversity, and sustainability. In addition, I will continue to address fiscal responsibility, institutional planning and resource management by providing oversight and accountability for budgets, programs, and services.
Education and learning are lifelong endeavors. I am committed to provide educational opportunities for students preparing for transfer to complete their undergraduate degree, pursue a course of study in a career technical education program, or take classes for lifelong learning through the College Emeritus programs and Community Education courses.
