Biography

I have been fortunate to live, work and raise my family in Placer County for the last 36 years.  During that time I have worked in both the public and private sector, and like many others in our communities, I volunteered for numerous efforts to improve our region.

I moved to Placer County after completing college in Minnesota.  I worked in real estate and public relations before joining Tahoe City Public Utility District (TCPUD) in 1991.  I spent 26 years serving in various capacities at TCPUD, serving my last 8 years as General Manager.  During my career with TCPUD I worked to secure grant and other funding for projects such as:  bike trails, park and beach improvements, sidewalks, as well as water and wastewater infrastructure improvements.  As General Manager I oversaw a staff of 44 full-time and 30 part-time positions and an operating budget of $10.5 million and $17 million capital projects.   During those years I worked very closely with our residents and other agencies to ensure public involvement in all aspects of our operations from budgets, to projects, to maintenance and operation levels.

After my retirement from TCPUD, I was hired on as Chief Executive Officer of the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association/Chamber of Commerce.  In that position I organized an expansion of the Board of Directors, reorganized staffing, and re-built relationships with Placer County and other local organizations.  In April of 2019 I was selected by the Board of Supervisors from a pool of candidates to fill the seat of Supervisor for the 5th District vacated by Jennifer Montgomery.

Outside of my career, I also served in various elected and appointed positions including:

  • Elected to the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District Board of Trustees
  • Seven years on the Placer County Transportation Commission (now PCTPA)
  • Five years on the State of California's Fish and Game Commission
  • Founding Board Chair of the Tahoe Fund
  • Board Member of the North Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce
  • Board Member of the Truckee North Tahoe Transportation Management Association
  • Federal Advisory Committee, Representative for Economics and Recreation

My husband is the owner of a civil engineering firm in Tahoe City.  We raised our three sons in the community and spend as much time as we can recreating in the mountains and foothills of our County.
