I believe that individuals have the right to make the decisions that affect their own lives. You shouldn't have to worry about the decisions being made in Congress or by unelected government bureaucrats and lawyers. Government has grown too big, too bureaucratic, and too intrusive into our daily lives. We need to work to get money, power, and decision making back down to the local level and, as much as possible, back to the people.
However, the greatest crisis affecting the country, as I see it, is the breakdown of the American family and the loss of strong father figures and of our values. Too many young men are now growing up without a father figure in their lives, seeing how a man is supposed to conduct himself. Too many young women are growing up not knowing how a woman is supposed to be treated. Our communities are becoming overrun with drugs, crime, opportunism, and people looking for an easy way out of work. Too many people are walking away from their responsibilities and trying to live at the expense of others.
