As a lifelong Democrat, Ralph Burnette is committed to growing the party through outreach, education and cooperation with other progressive and Democratic groups. He believes that Democratic party values can be advanced by encouraging party unity and participation.
A native of Bakersfield, Ralph is a public works contract administrator for a $500 million bond program where he helps oversee the modernization and construction of public buildings and infrastructure.
He spent several years in Boston, Massachusetts where he volunteered for two Democratic presidential campaigns. In 2004, he knocked on hundreds of doors in New Hampshire for Gov. Howard Dean during the Democratic primary. He did the same for
Senator John Kerry during the general election. He has also volunteered on congressional and local campaigns in both Boston and Bakersfield.
In 2016, Ralph founded the Kern County Indivisible (the local chapter of a nationwide movement), a group that helped bring together dozens of activists in Kern County who brought significant local media attention to the attempted repeal of the Affordable Care Act.
Ralph is a member of the Democratic Women of Kern and was a longtime board member of the Park Stockdale Civic Association.
