Questions & Answers

Questions from League of Women Voters of California (3)

What financing method(s) would you support to repair or improve roads, rails, ports, airports, the electrical grid, and other infrastructure in the U.S.?
Answer from John Wesley Tyler:

I support a Green New Deal at the Federal level to finance the construction of a 21st century grid focused on the creation and distribution of renewable energy to all parts of the nation. We can pay for the program by increasing the corporate tax base, reducing military spending and eliminating current subsidies to the fossil fuel industry.

What programs or legislation, if any, would you support to help Americans of all ages to secure affordable health care?
Answer from John Wesley Tyler:

I support a Medicare for All system that would eliminate insurance premiums and copays and would provide universal healthcare to all Americans.

Describe an immigration policy that you would support if presented to the House of Representatives.
Answer from John Wesley Tyler:

I support an immigration system that is compassionate and welcoming for the people that are coming to this country. We should never be separating little children from their parents or holding them in cages at the border. This country is known for being a land of immigrants and we should strive to uphold those values of inclusion and community that make us a beacon for hope around the world.
