As a child, I learned the importance of a strong community. I grew up in a broken home, some tough neighborhoods and was even homeless at times.
Through persistence and the support of my community I overcame these obstacles. Now, I’m determined to pay it forward.
When my husband Chavares and I first came to Suisun City, it was love at first sight. Beautiful, affordable, centrally-located, and safe: we found a city brimming with possibility.
But the longer we lived here, the more I saw its problems and unfulfilled potential. Nothing was being done to address the things that needed fixing.
That’s why I ran for City Council. A Fresh Voice was needed to help our city blossom into more than just a bedroom community.
I am proud to have helped make the City Council more functional, responsive, and focused, but that’s just the beginning. To realize Suisun City’s true potential, we need more than the status quo can provide– we need a Fresh Vision!
As Mayor, I will never look around and say “good enough.” I will take change to the next level.
