I am a longtime East Bay resident and community leader and currently represent the 14th District in the state Assembly. I have served as the Concord police department’s Critical Response Chaplain since 2007 and have a proven record of common sense thinking that puts people first. I am a proud Democrat and have been a leader in the fight to reduce housing costs, stand up for victims of sexual assault, and expand access to high-quality education to more California students. I also know and understand that our communities are struggling with high costs of living. I believe we have to help people and be fiscally responsible. I am committed to supporting progressive policies while working to lower the tax burden on hardworking families in the East Bay and will hold government accountable for its spending.

My Top 3 Priorities
- Too often politicians fail to tackle systemic problems, but I am focused on bringing people together and serving as a leader on challenging problems such as helping victims of human trafficking and ending lead paint poisoning in our state.
- We cannot sit and wait for affordable housing to appear. I am leading the fight to increase our housing supply by incentivizing housing development, especially near transportation hubs, and eliminating barriers that prevent housing from being built.
- We need to continue to promote economic development and job growth. I am working to eliminate red tape and excessive fees on small businesses so they can more easily access the funding needed to grow and create good-paying, high-quality local jobs.
