Citizen Protection

Summary

Citizen Protection,  first responders both Police and Fire, have priority for the citizens of Arroyo Grande.

Citizen Protection, both the Police and Fire Department, need the equipment and manpower necessary to do their jobs, effectively and safely.  While the Fire Authority is the very best  idea, it only works if all partners keep up their end of the bargain. Oceano is not doing that right now.  We need to think about contracting out Fire Services for Oceano. We should be restructuring the Fire Authority between Arroyo Grande and Grover Beach.  All three stations would still be covered, Fire Authority would still cover Oceano but the pay structure would be changed for that area.  The Police Department and Fire Authority need to be fully staffed on the street, at all times, for your safety and each officers and fireman safety as well.  This is a priority.

Budget

Summary

Keeping our city working efficiently yet stay within our budget.

The Budget.   How do we keep our city working efficiently and still stay within our budget?  I believe that we  are in the process of  rethinking our current methods of operation , and combining departments at the staff level, which will save money.   Now we need to increase our income by increasing our tourism and attracting new businesses to our city.  I know that there are citizens in Arroyo Grande that have great idea’s that would work.   We just need those citizens to step up and be a partner in this endeavor  and have your voices heard.  If elected, I will ask for your input.   As council member, along with city staff , I’ll work on these issues tirelessly as we go forward.

Business Recruitment

Summary

Business Recruitment is an essential part of revenue growth in Arroyo Grande

Business Recruitment,  we need to actively invite businesses to come to Arroyo Grande, and  make the process easy and  straight forward, with no obstructions or red tape to hurdle, for business owners.  Create incentives to entice business to come to Arroyo Grande.  This is essential for tax revenue growth in Arroyo Grande in order to prevent additional cost to current residents
