To assure all Californians have access affordable housing, we must ease local and state barriers to development, build more high-density housing, more designated affordable housing and revamp Prop. 13. Also, we could build 3-5 million new homes by building on vacant land or under-used land already zoned for apartments, as well as building mid-rise housing near pulic transit stations. We could also add 790,000 new housing units by allowing "granny flats," including garage and basement apartments, cottages to houses. add
