Community is everything! As a long time resident and THS graduate, I LOVE TEMPLETON!! I feel so blessed to live in the beautiful Central Coast and raise my family here. My board service on the Templeton Education Foundation as VP of Grants, other local volunteer work, education (Master’s degree in Education), and experience (10 years of teaching experience and administrative work) has led me to this campaign. As a local non-profit professional, I have raised well over a million dollars over the past 4+ years - money used to help families who are struggling to make ends meet. It is my desire to strengthen our Templeton Community by making decisions, providing input, and creating opportunities that will keep our schools THE BEST!!
I am currently working closely with School Administrators, SLO County Office of Education, California Collaborative for Educational Excellence, parents, and other community members to increase Parent Engagement at our schools. I volunteered many hours this spring and summer to help lead and guide this work, provide input, collaborate, generate ideas, and hold 2 community workshops. This meaningful work has culminated in the creation of an action plan to help remove barriers and obstacles, consider the diverse needs of our wonderful Templeton parents, and help more families find ways to GET INVOLVED!! (If you are interested in being a part of this work, contact me at bwunsch@templetoneducationfoundation.com).
Community input is important and I want to hear your voice. I want to meet you. I want to represent the best district in the Central Coast, Templeton Unified School District. I have proven my strong work ethic, dedication to this community, and interest in making TUSD a place where all families feel supported and heard.
Please #VoteforBarby in the upcoming November 6th election! And, GET INVOLVED in our amazing Templeton Community!

My Top 3 Priorities
- 1) Transportation – lack of options hurts families. I will propose solutions that support working families, alleviate traffic, and provide safe options for students.
- 2) Safety – Mental health support is critical for student safety. Counseling and inclusionary activities for students MUST be prioritized to keep our schools and community safe.
- 3) Funding – years of declining enrollment has contributed to a lean budget. I will advocate for increased parent engagement, revenue building opportunities, and positive marketing of our Templeton Schools.
