My Top 3 Priorities

  • My top priority is to help the PUD move as quickly as possible towards our Town of Truckee 100% renewable energy goals, without endangering rates or reliability.
  • I want to encourage creative, collaborative relationships with our other town entities, including the Town of Truckee and the Fire District.
  • Work to ensure that the PUD is accurately reflecting the will of our community, increasing dialogue and improving customer service.

Biography

I have lived in Truckee for 23 years.  My husband Dean and I own and operate the Pour House Wine Shop, which has been in business for 13 years in downtown Truckee.  We also have two children, one who attends Alder Creek Middle School, the other at Truckee High.  I am as invested in this community as it is possible to be.

I served on the Conservation Committee that the PUD formed after almost signing a 50 year coal contract in 2006.  I learned A LOT that year about how utilities and the grid in Calfornia work.  The PUD implemented many of our recommendations, with tremendous success.

With that background, I feel strongly that our environmental problems can best be solved from the bottom up.  It is our small, local institutions, cooperating and communicating with each other, that will move us forward.
