My name is Ron Kosciusko and I am running for the Office of Director, Richardson Bay Sanitary District (RBSD) on the November 6^th election ballot.  I have been a board member for about 6 years and am running for a final term.  I figure 10 years is long enough. As the Chinese saying goes, “May you live in interesting times”.  The last 6 years have been very interesting.

There is a lot of concern about consolidation of the various Sewerage Agency of Southern Marin (SASM) districts as a result of  a recent Grand Jury report. No reasonable plan for such consolidation has been presented to the RBSD board.

Based on my experience and education, I believe I can bring to the RBSD board critical management and engineering skills to further improve processes and bring about innovations.

We moved to Tiburon in 1978 and have raised our family in Tiburon. I have been a Board Member of Del Mar Neighborhood Association and have been a president of another bay area neighborhood association.

Presently, I am a senior manager with an engineering and scientific consulting firm. I have reviewed major construction claims and have managed transmission line relocations for a major bay area utility. In this position, I have worked with the bio-diversity requirements and extensive state and local permitting processes. I have also analyzed contract languages to minimize claim risks.

Previously, I was a senior Project Controls Manager for a major construction company and have developed and implemented cost and schedule control tools to better manage construction projects. I was a Six Sigma Champion analyzing and improving construction industry processes. I have an M.S. in structural engineering and have been a registered professional engineer in California.

As a RBSD board member, I believe I will contribute in enhancing the RBSD’s operational effectiveness.
