Questions & Answers

Questions from League of Women Voters of California Education Fund (5)

What financing method(s) would you support to repair or improve roads, rails, ports, airports, the electrical grid and other infrastructure in the U.S.?
Answer from Rash Bihari Ghosh:

Small percentage of defense budget (without hurting defense R&D) must be transferred to support repair or improve roads, rails, ports, airports, the electrical grid and other infrastructure

Extend production tax credit to encourage renewable energy and combat global warming

Issue government bonds as a last resort if funds taken from defense budget is not enough

What programs or legislation, if any, would you support to help Americans of all ages secure affordable health care?
Answer from Rash Bihari Ghosh:

It will be mandatory for Employers to cover insurance of their employees.

Those who cannot afford insurance must be covered by government programs (like food stamps given the poor) which will be funded by making corporations (100 employees and above) to contribute to a "fund" that goes to government to support this program

Describe an immigration policy that you would support if presented to the Senate.
Answer from Rash Bihari Ghosh:

Those undocumented immigrants must be processed and legalized after imposing a small fine and be given the opportunity to become worthy and more productive citizens of this country without being exploited. It's time to end the political football game between the Democrats and Republicans, as we need the undocumented more than they need us. If there can be billions of dollars in bank fraud but nobody goes to jail, why are we making them suffer?

What programs or legislation would you support to meet the water needs of Californians and the federal water project infrastructure in California?
Answer from Rash Bihari Ghosh:

Introduce the hydrogrameen, a technology to refill depleted aquifers to prevent further land subsidence and protect naturally created underground aquifers which are the safest source of freshwater and drinking water resources. We cannot afford to destroy this invaluable resource, and though world authorities are aware of aquifer destruction they are not taking action. The refilling of aquifers will increase increase crops, wood and canopy in the vicinity of the refilled aquifers. This technology will create millions of jobs and can help refill millions of depleted aquifers in every country, at a far lower cost than desalination without the negative health effects. Because the nine nuclear nations and age-old power plants (Russia, USA, & Fukushima) have destroyed the surface water of our planet, refilling the groundwater is the only option left to address the drinking water crisis across the planet.

The US is the only country that has the proven technology, which was developed over 35 years assisted by world-class scientists of Berkeley and Stanford, Bangladesh, India, and England, to help the rest of the country and other developing countries. The California water crisis can be solved using this technology to refill our depleted aquifers - with hydrogrameen, we have both the technology and the expertise. Furthemrore, this is our opportunity to reach every citizen of the world and develop mutual respect and understanding to improve our relations with all countries of the world by providing water and water infrastructure instead of sending our army and shedding their blood for oil.

According to a "Civility In America” survey, 75% of Americans believe that the U.S. has a major civility problem. If you are elected what will do to address this?
Answer from Rash Bihari Ghosh:

Undertake more educational programs and publicity for young people on the issue of civility in America and make all citizens aware that we have to address this problem with no loss of time to learn to live together with mutual respect and understanding. Furthermore, adults must be mindful of what they preach and practice in order to set a good example for generations to come. It will be unfortunate if we cannot accomplish and resolve this civility problem, and it should not cost that much money.
