My Top 3 Priorities

  • Enhance Public Safety through strategic measures, securing the jail that has the highest rates of escapes in CA, securing evidence room, testing rape kits, and creating a Medical Examiner to neutralize controversy created by Sheriff Moore.
  • Aggressively address homelessness and the multiple factors that contribute to the spread of the problem in Stockton such as mental health, drug abuse, and rising housing costs.
  • Protect our natural and community resources like the Delta and Swenson Park from outside business interests.

Biography

My education and qualifications are: Born and raised in Stockton, I have lived a great part of my life in District 2 and am familiar with its strengths and challenges. I graduated from Lincoln High and SJDC and now my children attend both. I obtained my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees with honors from CSU Sacramento and USC Sol Price School of Public Policy. As a Capitol Fellow, I worked in the State Assembly staffing legislation vital to our area that was signed into law. Using my education and experience, I advocate for the community in many facets including government accountability, working with the DA towards solutions improving police/community relations, and leading the charge to re-open Fair Oaks Library.

I have served on several commissions including as Chair for the County Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. As a Marine Corps veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, I have served not only my community, but also my country.

I believe we have the potential to expand economically by maximizing our Port, and attracting employers that pay living wages. I support: accountability; separating the Sheriff/Coroner’s Office; aggressively addressing homelessness and crime; protecting Swenson as a preserve; and protecting our Delta. I appreciate your consideration and vote.
