Questions & Answers

Questions from League of Women Voters of California Education Fund (4)

What do you think the State should do to encourage affordable housing for all Californians?
Answer from Harry He:

Incenvtize building of more housing, use high density housing in appropriate areas, and help builders expedite the permitting and inspection process. I would also stress a need to include local opinions into building more housing, when local concerns are satisfied I think the building process will benefit greatly.

According to a "Civility In America” survey, 75% of Americans believe that the U.S. has a major civility problem. If you are elected what will do to address this?
Answer from Harry He:

I will lead by example by conducting myself in a civil way. The state capitol has a civility problem as well, especially in regards to sexual harassment and bullying. To fix this, I will push to have sexually abusive people removed from the state capitol.

Climate changes, and the shifting between very wet weather and drought, worry Californians. What strategies would allow that your district to both satisfy its water needs and protect the environment? Please be specific.
Answer from Harry He:

Addressing climate change is a great way  to help boost water availibility in my district. Climate change exacerbates the droughts that California experiences. I would fight to make sure we are combating climate change in a way that benefits the water needs of my district.

What programs or strategies would you suggest to meet the educational needs of the youngest and most poverty stricken Californians?
Answer from Harry He:

The state needs to help young and poverty stricken people with adadapting to the everchanging high-tech economy that we are living in. After-school programs, career training programs, job shadowing programs, and internships should be included in the education of all students.
