What experience or qualifications do you have that make you well suited for this role?

As a deputy public defender, I do the following: represent indigent clients throughout all stages of criminal proceedings from arraignment to jury trial; research and draft pretrial motions including motions to suppress, speedy trial motions, Pitchess discovery motions, motions in limine and jury trial motions; conduct in-custody and out-of- custody client interviews, interview family members; serve as a liaison between probation officers, case managers and social workers to develop individualized community-based treatment programs; create individualized training plans for interns and supervised volunteer attorneys to second chair hearings and trials; direct investigators and paralegals in preparation for trial to interview witnesses, prepare subpoenas; and consult with experts for hearings and jury trial issues.

 

Additionally, I have tried 118 jury trials.
