My Top 3 Priorities
Reducing Wasteful Spending. I want to put an end to spending that is not fair or needed, such as rubber-stamping spending and not allowing enough time for lower contract bids to occur for services.
Fair Teacher Pay and Supplies. Make it so that teachers do not have to pay for supplies and that school staff is paid adequately in order to keep qualified and experienced teachers, as well as prevent a strike.
Community Involvement in Education. I want to send newsletters and have more community events to inspire students and parents to care about their child's education. Bret Harte has the Principal walk throughout the neighborhoods to boost attendance.
Experience
Education
CSU Stanislaus — Bachelor's Degree, Business Administration - Emphasis in General Business (current)
I am deciding to run for Modesto City Schools Trustee Area 7! I am currently a substitute teacher and am almost finished with the multiple and single subject credential program for receiving both credentials to become a teacher!

Developing students in a positive learning environment on many different subjects, also adapting to the different teacher expectations of a charter school.
I have substitute taught here for a few years and learns how to effectively control classrooms as well as ensuring students have a successful day. I do this by being prepared, arriving early, and constantly asking teachers/adminstration for feedback.
Training team members in customer service and helping them improve in various retail departments. Managing customer inquiries, as well as resolving complaints. I was a Customer Service Rep. for about 9 months and a Shift lead for over 1 year.

GOVERNING BOARD MEMBER – AREA 7 MODESTO CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT RYAN SCHAMBERS Occupation: Substitute Teacher Education and Qualifications: I am a Modesto City Schools graduate and have lived in Modesto for 21 years. After high-school I was a police explorer for 2 years. I then attended CSU Stanislaus and received a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Throughout the schools I have attended I noticed many great things and some things that concern me. I will put a stop to the wasteful spending that has created over $3 million dollars of debt each year. Taxpayers and school staff continue to suffer while our money is spent on things we don’t need. I am also troubled by the fact that our schools are not safe. Many campuses are plagued by violence, bullying, and crime. I would create a system that ensures there is constant supervision and train school staff on how to properly handle these issues. Schools should partner with each other and host informational meetings with parents. Working in multiple school districts has given me ways of implementing community involvement in education. Please visit https://www.facebook.com/ModestoCitySchoolBoard or call me at 209-566-3595 to learn more. This area needs proper representation and someone that will actually listen. I would be honored to serve you and receive your vote.
Hi, my name is Ryan Schambers and I am running for the Modesto City School Board Trustee Area 7 in the 2017 Election.
My campaign will be focused on ensuring that the School Board properly manages resources and the budget in order for teachers to have more supplies and more job security. I will work with the teachers' union to provide fair benefits and pay.
I would also involve the community in education by brainstorming ideas with school staff and other board members, such as board members such as myself visiting local schools and community events more often and taking advice from the public at their residences.
I also want to ensure that we have safe schools to minimize bullying, crime, and other issues. I would want adequate supervision and to hold those responsible accountable for their actions.
Candidate Ryan Schambers's Mission Statement: My vision is to provide Modesto residents with better resources and pay through reducing wasteful spending.
I have met many teachers and other members within the community whom I am sure would gladly endorse me if I ask. I ran for City Council in Modesto's District 4 in 2013.
I would love to come and speak to any organization, group, club, or with any individuals.
If you would like to donate please contact me at ryan.s.schambers@gmail.com or call at 209-566-3595. I would greatly appreciate any support I can get!
