Christy Gilbert Holstege is an attorney and advocate based in Palm Springs, California. Christy works as the third generation civil litigation attorney at her family's law practice Gilbert & Bourke LLP in Palm Springs. There, she practices civil litigation, public benefits, worker's compensation, personal injury, employment discrimination, domestic violence law, and housing law. Christy focuses her practice and pro bono efforts serving underserved communities of the Coachella Valley, including women, people with disabilities, LGBTQ clients, homeless clients, injured workers, personal injury victims, and victims of discrimination and violence. Christy volunteers countless pro bono hours each year to serving residents of Palm Springs with nowhere else to turn for legal assistance. Christy has represented hundreds of clients who live in Palm Springs and the surrounding areas on numerous local issues. 


Prior to joining Gilbert & Bourke, Christy won Stanford Law School-Stanford Public Interest Foundation Fellowship funding to establish a legal aid clinic for domestic violence survivors within the Coachella Valley’s only domestic violence shelter, Shelter From The Storm. Christy has also represented rural farmworkers in civil rights, housing, and employment litigation at California Rural Legal Assistance in Coachella, California.


Christy earned a J.D. from Stanford Law School and a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology from UC Santa Barbara. Christy serves on the board of directors for Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest, Well in the Desert, Coachella Valley Housing Coalition, and Shadylane Mobilehome Park. She also serves on the Palm Springs Human Rights Commission and the Palm Springs Homelessness Task Force. 


Christy is proud to live in Palm Springs, with her husband Adam Gilbert, who is a small business owner and a third generation resident of Palm Springs, and their dog Layla.
