My Top 3 Priorities

  • Infrastructure -- Our region is beautiful, rugged, and vulnerable. Maintaining and updating our infrastructure is key. Our roads must always be accessible and safe, and our public facilities are open when we most need them.
  • Flood Mitigation -- We must make meaningful progress on flood reform. I support the efforts for flood mitigation taken by the County to ensure flood protection in San Anselmo. NOw it's time for the Town to do its part.
  • Public Safety -- We must ensure that San Anselmo is well represented on the Central Marin Police Authority and Ross Valley Fire Boards, and make certain that our public safety providers have the tools they need to keep us safe.

Biography

I am proud to have over a decade of service in San Anselmo. I first became involved in Town affairs through civic groups such as Sustainable San Anselmo and later stepped up my engagement as a member of the Town's Parks & Recreation Commission where I have served for the last six years. I was proud to help bring the skate park and basketball plaza to Memorial Park when I was chair of the Commission in 2015 and equally proud of the many Town events our Commission has helped lead. I have also served on the San Anselmo Community Facilities Master Plan Advisory Committee and the Memorial Park Community Advisory Board. I have a passion and a belief in local government and public service, and I take just as much pride in my employement as an public safety information officer for Contra Costa County as I do in my 10 years of volunteer service to the San Anselmo.

Serving on the San Anselmo Parks and Recreation Commission, as well as the Community Advisory Committee and Community Advisory Board, has given me the opportunity to share my passion for parks and our environment, and has prepared me to represent our community on the Town Council.

With 15 years in public policy and local government, I promise to remain open and accessible, and listen to all sides in order to be an advocate for our entire community. I believe public service and volunteerism are essential to a thriving community, and have spent the majority of my time in San Anselmo walking that walk. For nearly a decade, my time in San Anselmo has been spent serving our community in the following capacities:

- San Anselmo Parks & Recreation Commissioner

- Community Facilities Master Plan Advisory Committee

- Memorial Park Skate Park Steering Committee

- Memorial Park Master Plan Advisory Board

- Charter Member of Sustainable San Anselmo

My priorities include: maintenance and planning for roads, parks, and town facilities; public safety and flood protection; open space and environmental preservation; prudent fiscal oversight and economic sustainability so that we can continue to support a fresh and thriving downtown and improve basic services.

I bring a wealth of experience, passion, and dedication to the table and look forward to working together to ensure that San Anselmo remains vibrant, family-friendly, sustainable and safe. I am proud to be endorsed by the Marin Democratic Party and the Sierra Club. To learn more about me and my candidacy, please visit burdoforsananselmo.com
