Dr. Glendora M. Tremper was appointed to the Board of Education on April 23, 2012 and elected on November, 2012. Dr. Tremper is the parent of an 11th grade student at Chula Vista School District's Bayfront Charter High School. She is actively involved with political organizations to ensure education is forefront in the minds of our elected officials. She continues her tradition of being an involved parent as an active member of Bayfront Charter High School's Parent/Community Council. Historically, Dr. Tremper, has been active in CVESD's PTA, as President, Secretary and Parliamentarian, as well as Chair to many events. She was CVESD's Budget Advisory Parent Chair for 5 years.
Dr. Tremper currently works as the Lead Language-Speech and Hearing (LSH) Specialist/Special Education Coordinator for River Springs and Harbor Springs Charter Schools in Temecula and was formerly a Coordinator of Student Support Services in the South Bay Union School District. For the last 24 years, Dr. Tremper has volunteered for InterFACE, a non-profit organization proving reconstructive surgery and ancillary services to children with Cleft Palate in Mexico.
Dr. Tremper was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. She lived in Europe, Venezuela, Canada, Boston, MA and El Paso, TX before settling in San Diego. She is bicultural/bilingual, fluent in Spanish. Ensuring the needs and legal rights of all students are met has been Dr. Tremper's educational focus for 21 years. She believes that partnering with teachers, parents, and the community is key to ensuring each student's academic success.
