Should immigration laws be changed? What changes would you support? Please explain why.
Answer from Robert Hodges:
Enforce current immigration laws. Current laws are adequate if enforced by the Immigration Department and Border Patrol is authorized to enforce the laws.
The political climate in Washington, D.C. has been extremely partisan in recent years. In that kind of atmosphere, what would you do to get things done while in office?
Answer from Robert Hodges:
I will work with conservative Democrats and Republicans on the issues we agree on and solve those problems; then address and negotiate resolutions for those we don't agree on.
What, if anything, does the U.S. need to do in order to address national security and terrorism? Please explain your answer in detail.
Answer from Robert Hodges:
Increase the size of the United States military and adequately supply the men and women defending our country with appropriate weapons and materials to do their job. There needs to be legitimate vetting of Syrian Refugees coming to live in our communities. Obama Administration officials, by their own admission, agree the current vetting system is inadequate.
The Federal Government plays a part in California water allocation and use through a variety of laws. What, if any, legislation would you support in an effort to handle water shortages caused by the current and any future drought?
Answer from Robert Hodges:
It is crucial for America to act now and invest in our water storage, water recharge, and desalinization. Local control of our water and water systems is the best way to make certain water will not be an issue in the future.
