Biography

As a seasoned veteran of the Daly City City Council where I have served as a councilmember for 22 consecutive years and have been the Mayor five times, I have the experience and institutional knowledge to ensure that the cities of San Mateo County District 5 ( Daly City, Colma, Brisbane, and parts of South San Francisco & San Bruno ) and our residents continue to prosper.

I grew up in Daly City , and I am a proud graduate of our local public schools. Following my graduation from Westmoor High School, I earned my bachelor's degree from the University of California at Los Angeles(UCLA)
in History and my Law Degree from the University of San Francisco.

I was the first Filipino American to be elected to the Daly City Council in 1993, and continue to serve my city up to today.

As a dedicated councilmember I have addressed many issues of concern for Daly City residents such as balancing the budget, promoting economic development and local job creation, maintaining quality public safety services, investing in city services for our seniors and youth, and improving transportation systems throughout Daly City, and I plan to do the same for San Mateo County District 5.

With broad community support from you and many stakeholders, I have helped Daly City's vision for the renovation of Westlake Plaza, the Skyline &
Saint Francis commercial centers as well as our youth and senior community centers. I continue to advocate for improvements to our streets, lighting, landscaping, parks and signs as well as the ongoing improvement to Mission Street and a completed Pacific Plaza project.

Professionally, I maintain my own law practice in Daly City and work as a substitute teacher and an assistant wrestling coach for Archbishop Riordan Highschool in San Francisco. Most recently, I was commissioned as a
2nd Lieutenant in the California State Military Reserve where I work to support the emergency response mission of the California Guard.

Over my years of service, I have paved the way for other Filipinos & Asian Pacific Islanders to be appointed and elected to various local government offices.

I want to continue to serve and do the important work for our communities as your Supervisor to help District 5 remain a great place to live, work and play.
