Three days before Massachusetts shocked the country by electing a Republican US Senator in January 2010, President Obama came to Boston to try to help Democrat candidate Martha Coakley. We helped organize a counter-rally outside the Obama/Coakley event on Huntington Avenue that dwarfed the Coakley event. (This was just a few short weeks after the Obamacare legislation had been rammed through the US House of Representatives, and a few short weeks before Harry Reid nefariously changed the US Senate rules to deny a Republican filibuster of the bill.)
