I was born in San Mateo and have a lifelong love for my hometown.  I became involved in politics to help support my community to grow and expand without losing the qualities that make San Mateo County "home".  As a member of San Mateo County Democratic Central Committee (SMCDCC), I have helped elect many wonderful representatives to our county.  As an elected member of SMCDCC I do more than show up to meetings.  I am involved in every aspect of the committee from planning and catering events to cleaning up the trash after the event.  As a current member of the SMCDCC Executive Board, I strive to do everything possible to support the Democrats within San Mateo County.

In 2015 I was unanimously elected to become Controller for SMCDCC by my peers.  I have a reputation for keeping quality high while operating within or below budget.  My philosophy is to keep the highest possible quality while maintaining frugality.  For one event, I made 640 individual desserts in my tiny kitchen during a heat wave!  I regularly phone bank during election years and have walked many precincts to support candidates and causes I believe in.

Last year I was honored by SMCDCC as Volunteer of the Year for 2015.  This is awarded to one individual each year who has acted above and beyond to support the Democratic Party.

I have been a small business owner here in San Mateo County and understand the problems and challenges faced by so many of the small business owners in our area.  I have also been very active in animal rescue and an advocate for better legislation to support animals within our county and our state.  

I am a Democrat.  I am generally liberal but pragmatic enough to compromise when that's the only way to get something passed.  I support a progressive agenda that treasures all members of our community.  San Mateo County has become a place where there are many people prospering and many people are getting left behind as rents rise faster than their minimum wage jobs.  As a community, we need to address the inequality and elect representatives that will support all of our citizens.  Being involved in animal rescue, I have seen some of the horrible things done to companion animals.  I try to use my position to gain access to lawmakers to improve the laws that can minimize the abuses.  

We have come a long way but we need to keep fighting to make things better.  

I have been a Democrat for over 40 years and I am extremely proud to represent District 2 on the San Mateo County Democrats Central Committee for 6 years.  I'm an advocate for women’s rights, public health and education, the welfare of seniors, working people, and environmental protection policies.   I've participated in Local, state and national canvassing and worked candidate phone banks.   I've represented the district as a state delegate several times and a national delegate for the re-election of President Obama in 2012.  I am excited and ready to continue doing my part on the Central Committee.  

Pamela is the youngest candidate running for San Mateo County Democratic Central Committee (SMCDCC).  In January 2016, the SMCDCC membership elected her to the position of Recording Secretary.  She also currently serves on the City of San Mateo Planning Commission, County of San Mateo Commission on Aging, and the board of the Peninsula Democratic Coalition.

Pamela O'Leary is the Director of Sponsor Development at UPWARD, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing executive women. She has been an Adjunct Instructor at American University and Trinity Washington University, where she taught courses on women’s leadership, gender and politics, and nonprofit management. Pamela is the former Executive Director of the Public Leadership Education Network. She currently serves on the Advisory Council for Running Start and facilitates a Women in Management (WIM) group at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

In 2013, she was invited to participate as an Expert at United Nations meetings in Geneva and New York for the UN System-Wide Action Plan (SWAP) for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women. At the US House of Representatives, she proposed and led efforts to successfully pass a resolution condemning rape in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (H Res 1227, 110th).

Pamela has been featured in the The Los Angeles Times, National Journal, Washington Post, and ForbesWoman. She was profiled in Joanne Cleaver's book The Career Lattice as a case study of a high achieving millennial. Pamela has a M.A. in Applied Women's Studies from Claremont Graduate University, and a B.A. in Environmental Science from the University of California, Berkeley. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Human & Organizational Development, focusing on women’s leadership, at Fielding Graduate University.

I wholeheartedly believe the best way to change the world is to empower women leaders and those from underrepresented communities! I've dedicated my career to building inclusive communities, whether that's inside the classroom, with a nonprofit, or advocating for equality at various governmental entities. 

My favorite learning moments are when I'm the only or one of the few White people in the room, praying with others from another faith, or trying my best to speak a language foreign to me, but dominant of the group I'm in.  My career adventures have taken me to Capitol Hill, the United Nations, Stanford GSB, and serving as an executive director and adjunct instructor. While we are far from achieving true equality in the world, I'll keep trying everyday!

I am a longtime activist and community volunteer.  I serve on several PTOS and boards within the schools, President Elect of the Foster City Lions Club, and serve several other nonprofit boards.  I have been working on gun violence prevention for 17 years.

I am a lifelong Democrat and have volunteered in every election since the time I could vote.  I support Democrats up and down the ticket and work to get them elected.  I am a firm believer in the Democratic values and policies.

Dr. Amistad is a Stanford University graduate and has lived most of his life in San Mateo County since graduating from Stanford. He first resided in Menlo Park then moved up north to Daly City where he owned a home adjacent to the Olympic Golf Club.  He then moved to Danville and Fremont where he worked for Bank of America in the mid-1990s.

He settled in San Mateo where he has lived since 2000.  Dr. Amistad served as PTA member for George Hall Elementary and Abbott Middle School where his daughter Christine attended. When he was appointed San Mateo County Commissioner by then-Supervisor Jerry Hill, Dr. Amistad reached out to more community members to stand by the Democratic Party. Dr. Amistad is grateful to Sen. Hill for his commitment to the diverse communities of the County. 

Dr. Amistad teaches MBA business administration and law courses such as International Business and Law, Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurial Finance.  He also holds advanced business and law degrees.

Dr. Amistad is past president of the Filipino American Democratic Club of San Mateo County and currently serves as its Recording Secretary.  He was also co-chairman of the State Democratic Party FilAm Democratic Caucus.

Dr. Amistad has run for political office before, focusing on education and school concerns. Dr. Amistad was appointed by Governor Jerry Brown last year to serve as a State Commissioner for the Board of Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists (term to 2018).

Dr. Amistad was also a past San Mateo County Commissioner for the County Commission on Disabilities, 2007-13. At the time Senator Jerry Hill (then County Supervisor) appointed Fel Anthony Amistad with the approval of the County Board of Supervisors.

Dr. Amistad has served as Vice President of Hillsdale High School PTA where his daughter Christine was an alumnus.

Dr. Amistad was also a member of the George Hall Elementary and Abbott Middle School PTA organization.

Dr. Amistad was also an active member of the FilAm Chamber of Commerce, FilAm Real Estate Professional Association, past president of the Lions Club, District West of SF Twin Peaks, and other nonprofit groups.

ANTHONY FEL AMISTAD was elected as San Mateo County Central Committeeman in 2006 where he served with members and officials of the County's Party organization.

Dr. Amistad has run for political offices before. He ran for the San Mateo Union High School and  for the  San Mateo County Education Trustee from the early 2000-6. Last year, Dr. Amistad ran as a trustee candidate for San Mateo Community College Board where he was endorsed by State Superintendant of Education Tom Torlakson, County Controller Juan Raigoza, Foster City Councilman Herb Perez, Sam Hindi, all 5 Daly City Councilmen, and an endless list of elected officials, voters, and citizens.

I will increase Democratic voter turnout during elections. I will  increase our "registration of immigrant turned-US citizens" so our voter roster will increase with Democratic voters.  As a delegate to the CDP I will continue to attend our Democratic group meetings and participate in our democratic empowerment. I am a strong believer in registering Democratic voters and ensuring our stronger voter rolls stay Democratic.
