I was born in Frankfurt in 1960 on a U.S. Army base while my father was stationed in Germany. My family and I moved to Indiana when I was one year old. When I was seven we returned to Germany and lived in Heidelberg, my mother’s home town. After graduating from the German school system in 1980, I worked as a computer tech for U.S. military facilities in Germany until 1989. I also worked as a S.C.U.B.A. instructor and Master Diver for U.S. Armed Forces stationed in Europe.
In 1989 I moved back to the U.S. and landed in Butte County. I worked in sales, and as a musician, until I started my company Swiss-Link, Inc. in 1996. My company imports and distributes military surplus from Europe. We also manufacture gas cans and storm bags. I manage and employ 12 people at my business in Paradise. I have great people working for me, some for over 15 years, and I understand what it takes to have a great working relationship with my employees, and with my customers. I play in a 10 piece band called, “Big Mo & The Full Moon Band” which has successfully entertained in Northern California for 15 years now. I have always been able to handle budget issues with my company and band, and while running other companies before starting my own.
I believe that County Supervisors must have respect for the people and budget of Butte County, while also having a high respect for the land in Butte County. I am very concerned about fire safety in District 5, and will work to help prevent possible fire disasters. I will collaborate closely with Police, Fire, and other emergency agencies concerning the general safety of all Butte County citizens.
Agriculture, land, and water issues are important topics in Butte County, and I am looking forward to learning more about those issues, and working with all involved. I also am concerned with addressing mental health issues and homelessness. The job of a County Supervisor is an important one, and I am asking for your vote.
