A smart voter is an independent voter. Approxiately half of all voters consider themselves fiscally conservative, social moderate. Centralist, and absent of representation by the the main 2 political parties. We need candidates and voters alike to speak and conduct themselves in a way that puts political parties in a secondary role.
Making public policy is just that. Public. Not political party idelogy, not special interset or large corporation policy. Making public policy is not easy. It should not be. It should require compromise, study, future impact to future constituents.
