Biography

I love Redondo Beach and have served our community as the District 3 Councilmember for the past 3.5 years. I also represent our city at Regional and State levels, currently serving as the 1st Vice Chair / Transportation Chair for the South Bay Cities Council of Governments; as a Board member for the Clean Power Alliance; and as a League of California Cities Transporation, Communication and Public Works Committee Member.   The above is in addition to my normal job as a local small business owner of Champ Creative, a design agency. In my spare time, I also continue to serve as the TEDxRedondoBeach Organizer.   The importance of civil service became clear to me during High School. As a Junior, I was chosen to attend the week-long American Legion’s Jersey Boys State program. It instilled a belief in civic duty and the importance of local, county and state government on our daily lives. I spent the next 15 years volunteering for ALJBS because I wanted to motivate others to make a difference in their communities. My decade of service in Redondo Beach is largely inspired by those early experiences. I am more committed than ever to continuing and finishing the work I’ve focused on in the past few years and ensuring Redondo Beach will thrive for decades to come.   Our city continues to face complex issues with promising opportunities that will impact our neighborhoods, families, businesses, and schools. I will continue to bring a respectful, rational, independent and creative voice to our City Council. I will continue to be open-minded, diligent, and willing to think outside-of-the-box. My goals have been to ensure our city can be seen as a municipal model for public safety, transparency, efficiency, responsiveness and sustainability in the 21st century.   I want to continue strengthening Redondo’s economic base by supporting our local business owners while attracting new businesses and jobs that can help enhance city infrastructure, services and facilities. This will improve our quality of life, ensure our schools remain top-rated, safeguard our public safety, and foster a vibrant community that we all can be proud of. Your input has been critical and I will continue to rely on it.   If you have any questions, suggestions or concerns please contact me anytime at 424-262-4471 ,email or by filling out the contact form.    I respectfully request your support and vote by mail before March 5th.
