I am a Marine Corp veteran with a law degree—but I choose to stay at home with my children and serve our schools and our dynamic community. I was an active duty Marine between 1997 and 2001. After my honorable discharge, I attended the California State University of Northridge, where I earned a Bachelor’s in political science. In 2012, I earned a Juris Doctorate with a Public Service Distinction from Southwestern Law School.
I live in the Castle Peak community with my partner of nearly a decade, David, and our 11-year-old and 3-year- old children. A vital component of caring for my children is teaching them that contributing to one’s community is compulsory. I display this value to my children when I serve as the community coordinator on the Board of Jewish Education at Valley Outreach Synagogue (“VOS”), where I assist with event planning and coordinate community volunteers. I am also a board member of LAW Project of Los Angeles, a non-profit organization that seeks to help individuals take advantage of various post-conviction programs for employment purposes. LAW Project also advocates for system-involved families and youth. Finally, I am the co-President of the San Fernando Valley chapter of Mocha Moms, Inc., a national organization, where I help organize events and meetings about issues that impact mothers of color.
On the weekends, you can catch my family and me at the Calabasas Farmers’ Market grabbing fresh produce and flowers for the week. My family also frequents the Leonis Adobe Museum, where my children enjoy feeding the animals, and the Calabasas City Library, where my son devours books on garbage trucks for hours on end.

My Top 3 Priorities
- Bringing a diverse perspective to the school board for the first time. This district has never had a person of color on the board, yet 25% of our students are minorities. Representation on this board is long overdue.
- Cultivating civically minded and active youth by promoting programs that strive to early register all 16 year olds to vote as well as bring in programs that target young women to run for office in the future.
- 21st century career ready young adults. Whether or not a graduate chooses college, all of our high school graduates should be ready to work in 21st century jobs.

Political Beliefs
Political Philosophy
I can sum up my political philosophy with one word: Service. Service is the cornerstone of my life. I served in the Marine Corps for four years and, after attending law school, decided to serve my family as a mother of two wonderful boys.
I care deeply about community: I'm on the Board of Jewish Education at Valley Outreach Synagoguem, my faith community, and I am a board member of the LAW Project of Los Angeles, which advocates for system-involved families and yout in our community.
I want to serve our communtiy again on the Las Virgenes Unified Board of Education where I will fight for our community members to ensure their voices are heard on the issue we all care most about: our children's education.
