STATE SENATE

36th District

MARGGIE CASTELLANO

Businesswoman/Environmental Advocate

My family's commitment to public service instilled in me the belief that hard work, integrity, and service to community was the best way to live my life. They taught me that dedication to science, technology, and education provided long-lasting benefits to society.

My professional background prepares me for the position of CA State Senator. As an international producer for National Geographic Television, and others, I witnessed glaciers melting, Amazon rainforest destruction, and El Niño’s devastating effects. I see similar alarming trends here.

I will bring accountability, transparency, and innovation to government. I strongly support public forums and open dialogue so that people can directly communicate with elected officials. Moreover, I believe all individuals should be treated with equality and respect.

My priorities include: 1) stellar, affordable public education so the USA will remain competitive; 2) clean, renewable energy; 3) affordable, single-payer healthcare; 4) modernized mass transit, 5) strong consumer rights, and 6) creation of jobs that pay middle class wages.

Moreover, I will be a persistent voice against offshore oil drilling and will advocate for the removal of nuclear waste stored at San Onofre.

For me, public service is the highest calling. I will spend every day working tirelessly for my district.

I will represent you regardless of your party or affiliation.

I am proud to be endorsed by Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher, San Juan Capistrano, Mayor Sergio Farias, and Carlsbad Councilmember Cori Schumacher, among many others.

I’m honored to have your vote. Thank you: www.MarggieCastellano.com
