SANTA FE IRRIGATION DISTRICT
Board of Directors – Division No. 1

DEREK CLOTFELTER
AGE: 47
Financial Manager

I want to continue giving back to our community. Everywhere I go I serve on boards and volunteer working to improve the community around us. Over the years various family members have served on this and other local boards and committees and now I feel it is my turn to give back locally.

I am a 5th generation Californian and 3rd generation Rancho Santa Fe resident. Born into a real estate family there is always talk about the water supply and challenges. Fortunately we now we feel far removed from San Dieguito river floods but this drought is omnipresent.

I returned to Rancho Santa Fe with my wife and 2 children in 2014. After my undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School in 1991 my work took me abroad to Europe and South America and across the United States.

My work and studies in finance and business operations have led me to contribute in those areas in the organizations where I have served. I also add a broad perspective that frequently contributes to strategic discussions and decisions.

I look forward to working on the Santa Fe Irrigation District Board of Directors to efficiently provide its customers with safe and reliable water.
