ESCONDIDO UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT
Governing Board Member – Trustee Area No. 4

DANE M WHITE
Resident Manager

My name is Dane White. I am a fifth generation Escondido resident, and have lived here most of my life. I attended both Escondido High and Escondido Charter High Schools. My career path post high school took me into the construction field and project management. Recently, I’ve continued course studies through Brigham Young University; and have been engaged as a manager for facilities that treat individuals suffering from drug and alcohol addiction.

I am running for the Escondido Union High School District Board of Education because I believe it is imperative we provide our students, families, and communities with the best education and learning opportunities possible. This is vital for the future of our society.

As someone who has a background in the trade industry, one of my many interests is the support of vocational education and assuring that our graduates have career ready skills. I will also prioritize improving test scores for our district’s struggling 9th and 10th grade students. I will work to improve outcomes for at-risk students dealing with various issues such as, foster care, drug and alcohol problems, etc.

I would be honored to serve our community on this school board. Please visit www.DaneMWhite.com to learn more.

ESCONDIDO UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT
Governing Board Member – Trustee Area No. 4

CESAR SERRANO
AGE: 21
Operations Assistant

I attended Escondido’s public schools and constantly saw students who failed to reach their untapped potentials. I understand our school system and especially our students. Our school system cannot advance unless parents and teachers work together to reach decisions that reflect their true understanding of what their students need.

As your school board trustee, I will strive to make partnerships my first priority. It is important to have all components of the educational community represented when budgets and policies are decided. I will work to bring teachers, students, parents, administrators, and my fellow school board members together to meet our educational challenges head on. I will commit to partnerships and not partisan politics.

We need a school board that is respectful of and acknowledges the contributions of all stakeholders. Meaningful change can only come from a diverse, collaborative environment. True cooperation is essential when addressing issues such as the Common Core, the Local Control Funding Formula, and the Local Control Accountability Program. Further, I will work to strengthen our relationships with the elementary district, and our city leaders.

I would be honored to have your vote and the opportunity to bring common sense solutions to our school board.
