Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

Public Safety & Safe Neighborhoods

As a former law enforcement officer Dan has had an inside look at the needs of public safety in our community. He is committed to keeping our Fresno County jail fully operational and criminals off our streets. Dan plans on using common sense measures to ensure the proper resources are allocated to build stronger and safer neighborhoods, safe from gangs and criminals. Dan will be tough on crime, and tough on supporting crime prevention programs for at risk youth, saving millions of taxpayer dollars.

Jobs & Economic Development

As a businessman and former Fresno City Councilmember, Dan has a record of bringing jobs to Fresno, promoting greater economic growth and was a passionate advocate for the inclusion of south, central, and downtown Fresno in our prosperity. As Supervisor, Dan will work to expand good paying manufacturing jobs and develop new technology and clean energy economic sectors. He will ensure that growth, traffic and infrastructure are handled responsibly. He will fight hard to bring quality jobs and resources to District 3.

Strengthen County Services

Making county government leaner, responsive, and innovative is a key focus for Dan. As a public steward of your taxpayer dollars, Dan will ensure every penny of that money is spent responsibly. That will be one of Dan’s top priorities. Dan will hold community forums to discuss how the county can best serve its residents. Community feedback is important to improving the quality and accessibility of county services.

Investing In Our Youth

Dan knows the key to a better future for Fresno County is unleashing the potential for our young people. As a former probation and parole officer, Dan has the first-hand experience needed to combat drugs, gangs, and a high drop-out rate. Dan will work to improve after school programs, healthcare support, and creative community involvement to break the cycle of despair for thousands of our young people. Dan will push Fresno County to improve cooperation with the City of Fresno, school districts, and many excellent non-profit organizations already engaged in trying to build a better future for our children. Dan will be a voice for our kids and a strong voice for constructive cooperative action on their behalf.
