My Top 3 Priorities

  • Ensure affordable housing while working towards a plan to aide the unhoused in our community.
  • With chaos from wildfires and the pandemic we need to make sure we have a plan in place so that our people and small businesses can stay here and thrive.
  • Building a bridge between RPDPS and the community by working together through community oversight.

As an immigrant, I was born and raised in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In 2000 I met my husband in Kinshasa while studying theology. A few years later I came to the United States to start my family. Needless to say, coming to the US was a huge culture shock for me. If you haven't already noticed English isn't my first language. (It's my sixth!) In the Congo, community is vital so one of the ways I was able to get over culture shock was to volunteer. Whether it was at church or in my local community I always found a way to give back. That got me started on my road to local politics.

My husband and I are raising three kids here in Sonoma County. The last six years we have been living in Rohnert Park’s newly created District 4. All three of our kids are bilingual in French and English having studied at the French American Charter school. We currently have two teenagers at Technology High School.

My husband and I are both very pro-labor. I am a CSEA Local 75 member and site representative at the school I work at. My husband is a sixteen year Teamster member and counting. My husband has a long history with the Teamsters. His grandfather was the president of Local 278 in San Francisco and was very engaged in supporting workers. Together we are continuing the fight to keep the legacy that was passed down to us. In 2018, I was elected as a California Democratic Party Delegate for District 3. I am a graduate of Santa Rosa Junior College and am currently studying at Chico State and Central State University.

The love and passion to serve others drew me to create my non-profit Les Enfants Baobab that houses, feeds and educates street children in Kinshasa. I am also passionate about speaking out for the voiceless. Volunteering and helping others is a big deal for me. For seven years, I volunteered as a chair for my kid's yearbook committee. I also sat on the School Advisory Board for a couple of years. My children and I worked side by side with other volunteers after the fire broke out in 2017. We helped by collecting and giving out food, clothing, and much more in our community. During Covid-19, I have been helping to distribute food to our peers and encouraging them, along with helping my elderly neighbors with their yard work. Serving others is what I do. I am ready to serve the city of Rohnert Park.
