I am a life long resident of Sunnyvale, attended Lakewood Elementary, a veteran of the Marine Corps, and father of a fifth grader.  I have served on the Sunnyvale School Board for almost 15 years now. Within this service I have earned a masters degree in education for the University of Phoenix, and earned an administrative credential from the University of San Francisco.  I worked as a social studies teacher for eight years before going into school administration.  I currently work as an Assistant Principal at Prospect High School.

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

I believe in equity in education, and that our schools reamain relevant with our community concerns and needs.  As an educator and school administrator, I know how important it is to maintain high standards, as well as recruiting and retaining quality educators for our professional learning communities.  In my service as a school board member, I have taken part in fiscally responsible decisions taht developed programs to improve student achievement, and support measures to maitain and upgrade infrstructure to foster positive education environments for our school sites.

Schools are expanding the educational experiences offered, as we develop curriculum for families to choose specialized programs, such as dual language immersion and science/technology, in order to better serve the interests expressed within our community.  I hope to build on this work, and continue my service as a governing board member.
