I am running for Judge because justice in Inglewood shouldn’t look different than justice in Brentwood.
As a public defender for over thirty years, I have too often seen people with means treated differently
than the poor and those from marginalized communities. I will treat all parties equally, regardless of
race, class, gender, identity or orientation.
We need justice that restores our community to wholeness – treating victims of crime with compassion,
empathy, and fairness, as well as those accused of crimes. I will uphold public safety by holding people
accountable for their actions, while addressing the root causes of criminality, with a focus on treatment
over incarceration in appropriate cases.
I have been rated “Well Qualified” by the Los Angeles County Bar Association. I’ve been endorsed by
the LA Times, the LA County Democratic Party, the Mexican American Bar Association, and Labor
Unions. I have the support of the people that work in the courts every day, including more than 50
Superior Court Judges, prosecutors, court clerks, court reporters and court interpreters.
I am seeking election as a judge because I believe we can have justice reform, equal treatment under
the law, and public safety. Justice Matters.
