I have been diligently and faithfully serving as a Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge for the last eight years. Since my appointment to the bench in 2014, I have handled thousands of cases, presided over numerous trials, and heard and decided countless disputes.
I have received the highest judicial rating of “Exceptionally Well Qualified” from the Los Angeles County Bar Association based on my professional ability, experience, competence, integrity, and temperament.
In 2016, after serving for only approximately 16 months as a LA County Superior Court Judge, I was invited by the California Court of Appeals to be designated for four months as Justice Pro Tem. While serving as a temporary Justice on the appellate court, I presided on three-Justice panels hearing appeals from the LA County Superior Court in criminal, civil, family law cases, as well as other matters.
I am a faculty member of the LA Superior Court’s Judicial Education Seminars and regularly teach continuing education courses on state and federal law to judges in LA County and other counties across California.
Before being appointed as a judge, I served for 13 years as a federal prosecutor prosecuting cases involving violent crimes, child exploitation, drug trafficking, gang violence, threats against aviation security, and weapons offenses, among other federal crimes. Prior to that, I served for four years as a civil attorney, handling a variety of civil cases involving breach of contract, product liability, tort and patent disputes.
I am a dedicated wife and a mother of three teenagers. In my spare time, I am actively involved in the community. Among my many community activities, I mentor numerous youth and young adults interested in the legal profession. I believe it is important for judges to be involved in the community to demonstrate that the legal system is fair and that the legal profession is accessible. I also appreciate the value of diversity of experiences and backgrounds on the bench. It increases public confidence in the legal system and demonstrates that system is accessible, regardless of a person’s race, ethnicity, age, gender, religion, or socio-economic status. I look forward to continuing to serve the community.
